• Elisabete debutes a new rol at Opéra National du Rhin

    Next engage for Matos: Geniévre from Le roi Arthur (Ernest Chausson) at Opera National du Rhin.
    Performances will take place on March 14, 16, 18, 21 and 25 (Strasburg) and April 11 and 13 (Mulhouse)
    This new rol for her, almost wagnerian, belonges to a rare opera written by Ernest Chausson between 1886 and 1895, but only first performed on 30 November 1903 at the Théâtre de la Monnaie, Brussels, after long delays. The musical style is heavily influenced by the works of Richard Wagner, particularly Tristan und Isolde and Parsifal, as well as César Franck.

  • Palau de Les Arts Les Troyens DVD available for preorder now!

    C Major label has produced a DVD of Berlioz´s Les Troyens, recorded live at Palau Les Arts of Valencia and starring Elisabete Matos as Cassandre, Daniela Barcellona as Didon and Lance Ryan as Ènèe. Other singers are Giorgio Giuseppini (Panthée), Gabriele Viviani (Chorebe), Stephen Milling (Narbal) Eric Cutler (Iopas), Dmitri Voropaev (Hylas), Zlata Bulicheva (Anna), Askar Abdrazaov (Priam) and Oksana Shilvoa (Ascagne).   • Elisabete Matos debut in Wien as Abigaille on January 2013

    On January 20 Elisabete Matos has debuted at the Vienna State Opera with the role of Abigaille. With her, Andrzej Dobber singing Nabucco, Michele Pertusi as Zaccaria and Marian Talaba as Ismaele.   • Elisabete has sung Senta in Los Angeles Opera on March 2013

    On March 13 (and days 9, 17, 21, 24, 27 and 30), Elisabete sang the mail role of The Flying Dutchman at Los Angeles Opera conducted by James Conlon. It has been her debut in this historic theater. Beside her on stage Tómas Tómasson as the Dutchman, Jay Hunter Morris as Erik, James Creswell as Daland, Matthew Plenk As Steersman and Ronnita Nicole Miller as Mary.
